I drank coffee. From Civet poop! LOL!
Kape Balos from Ria Jose on Vimeo.
Kape Balos, also known as Alamid Coffee is made from coffee beans that have been digested and fermented in the digestive system of the Asian Palm Civet. It is a luxury coffee, and the most expensive in the world. The beans are only available in some parts of Southeast Asia. It is farmed here in Mindanao, and some coffee shops in Davao City serve it. I tried my Kape Balos at the Kangaroo Coffee Company.
It has a coffee taste (DUH!) sans the bitterness. It is a coffee meant to be enjoyed , rather than drank to wake you up. It is good, on it's own, without sugar and cream. If you are a coffee drinker, it is a definite must-try. The video shows how I fail at using the press. I should have pressed the thing before pouring. DUH!
Kangaroo Coffee Company is located along Tiongko Street in downtown Davao City. They are open Mondays to Fridays from 9 am to 12 mn, and Saturdays from 9 am to 1 am.

Manila Ocean Park

I have been to the Hong Kong Ocean Park. And I had soooo much fun, but I was really young and OMG! I don't have photos of that one. :(
I had fun and really appreciated the Manila Ocean Park though. It brought out my geekiness.
